Communication

Q. What are some strategies to resolve language barrier between you and the principal?
Recommendations: using resources including dictionary, friends, neighbor and child to help.
Activities:
• Write down what you want to talk about with the principal, and ask your child/ friend/neighbor who understands English to translate it prior to the meeting with the principal.
• Use dictionary or translation application on a smart phone when you don’t understand what the principal writes/says.
• Invite your friends, relatives or other school staff who speak English to join you in a conversation with the school principal. They can help you interpret and understand any information that the principal shares with you.
